Right now, one group of helpers deserves special recognition: the millions of grandparents who have stepped up—often unexpectedly—to care for their grandchildren.

Our kids and grandkids are far more interested in who we are and what we do than what we say. They’re watching how we live, how we love, and how we navigate the chaos—and they’re learning from it every step of the way.

Across the country, countless grandparents are raising their grandchildren due to family crises such as substance abuse, incarceration, neglect, or abandonment.

It may seem like a small thing but what would be the outcome if you find a way, each day, to add a smile to each of those beautiful Grandkid’s faces?

That simple act of writing—often rambling, always heartfelt—has become a small but meaningful thread that keeps us woven together.

As grandparents, we hold a unique and pivotal role in shaping a child's development. Our influence can foster a sense of security, belonging, and self-worth that can last a lifetime.

These brave and selfless individuals, who have already weathered the storms of raising their own children, now find themselves stepping up once again to provide stability and care. This shift is rarely easy, and the ramifications are immense:

Remember, fear is a natural part of the human experience, but it doesn't have to define us. By facing our fears head-on, embracing the unknown, and staying active and creative, we can overcome any obstacle and lead fulfilling, meaningful lives.

This cleared the way for Grandparents once again to file for standing in the courts. This is a far reaching development. It has allowed many other state to follow suit.
