WHAT CAN WE DO?

Published by

Whether or not you can see or communicate with your grandchildren there is something you can do. One group of Grandparents that are involuntarily challenged by being thrust into the role of parents due to circumstances, ie drug abuse, incarceration, etc., to save these precious children from falling into the abyss of a struggling foster system.

It is known that millions of Grandparents households are taking care of their grandkids with no parent present in the house. Known as “Kinship Care”, it causes many challenges including change of life plans and financial strain. Some brave grandparents are forced to move from communities that don’ allow children. I can only imagine the sense of unfairness and disappointment with these circumstances.

You get the picture. So what can we do. I am aware of one organization that is dedicated to helping this population of quiet heroes. It is called HelpGuide. You can find them on the web at Helpguide.orghttps://www.helpguide.org/…/grandparents-raising-grandchild…

Wouldn’t it be a teaching moment if you get your grandkids involved and show them that there are other kids that are struggling.

Thanks for being Caring Grandparents.
