My grandson’s first fish!

This is a truly proud Grandpa teaching his 2 month old Grandson how to catch a fish on the FIRST cast.

When my kids were small I used to get a lot of guff from the neighbors for taking their little heads in my hand, locking their leg inside my arm and carrying them with me when I did my gardening. Note; this was before those snuggly front pouches. My kids were safe and sound, they loved the movement and closeness (We remain close some 50+ years later) and I didn’t just leave them in their playpen in the living room while I went out and about doing my chores. We stayed connected every chance we had.

I thought this was a great example of Steve being an excellent Grandpa. We can just imagine, when Alex is grown, and the family is gathered around the Thanksgiving day table as Grandpa shows the picture and shares this story. Just think of how powerful this message is to a growing child that Grandpa cared enough to want to be with me even at two months.

I constantly share these stories because the sometimes small actions we take as Grandparents send profound signals that our Grandkids Matter so very much. I applaud any Grandparent who finds ways to communicate how important these little human beings are. Great job Grandpa Steve.

Thank You for being a Caring Grandparent.
