That’s why today Caring Grandparents must also be active grandparents. I consider my latest book No Greater Loss as a call to action for all Caring Grandparents out there to stand up and say that we will no longer stand for the focus of the law and society to be anywhere other than where it should be: on what’s best for those precious Grand Angels. And what could be better than the love and support and wisdom this generation of Caring Grandparents can provide?
Being a Caring Grandparent today is not a spectator sport. You must aggressively assert your rights, never in a grandstanding fashion, but in a simple fashion…with the same simplicity that you feel when you look at your grandchild. I hope my book and my work both encourage you to assert your rights and help guide you in the best practices of how to do so.
In that, I am also fulfilling my role as a Caring Grandparent, and I am proud to do so.
